Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers to the most common questions about IQ and our test.
What is an IQ test?
An IQ (Intelligence Quotient) test is a structured assessment that measures several cognitive abilities — including logical reasoning, numerical thinking, verbal understanding, and visual-spatial problem solving — and combines them into a single score. The score is standardized so that 100 represents the average of the general population.
Is this IQ test really free?
Yes, completely. There is no login, no registration, and no payment. The service is supported entirely by advertising, which is why you may see ads on the pages. The test itself is free for everyone, in any language we support.
How accurate is an online IQ test?
Online tests, including ours, are best understood as engaging practice tools rather than clinical instruments. They give a reasonable indication of how you perform on cognitive tasks, but they cannot replace a formal evaluation by a licensed psychologist. For official purposes — educational placement, medical diagnosis, or legal matters — always seek a professional assessment.
What is considered a good IQ score?
The average is 100. Most people score somewhere between 85 and 115. Scores between 90 and 109 fall in the broad average band. Anything above 115 is above average, and scores above 130 are described as very superior — achieved by only about 2% of the population. Remember that any single score is just a snapshot, not a complete picture of your abilities.
Can I improve my IQ?
Intelligence is shaped by both genetic and environmental factors, so there is no quick way to dramatically raise it. However, research suggests that certain habits support sharper thinking: reading widely, learning a new language or instrument, practicing logic and math problems, exercising regularly, and getting enough sleep. Practicing test-style questions also improves your score by making the format feel familiar.
Why do I get different questions every time?
That is by design. Our test combines a large written question bank with dynamic generators that produce fresh questions on the fly. Each session randomly selects a different mix, so no two people — and no two attempts — receive exactly the same set. This keeps the experience fair and prevents memorization.
How long does the test take?
The test has 25 questions and allows about 45 seconds per question, so most people complete it in 10 to 15 minutes. If you do not finish in one sitting, your browser will remember where you left off and offer to resume.
What kinds of questions are included?
The test covers six main areas: number patterns (arithmetic, geometric, Fibonacci sequences), logic and deduction, quick mathematics, verbal analogies and synonyms, letter-sequence patterns, and visual-spatial reasoning such as shape rotations and 3×3 picture matrices.
Do you store my answers or personal data?
No personal information is required and no account is created. Your progress is saved only temporarily inside your own browser (using sessionStorage) so that an accidental refresh does not lose your work, and your final result is stored locally so you can view the result page. Nothing is sent to a server. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Is the test available in my language?
The interface is available in many languages, including English, Bahasa Indonesia, Español, Português, Français, Deutsch, Italiano, العربية, 中文, 日本語, Русский, and हिन्दी. The site detects your browser language automatically, and you can switch manually using the language selector in the menu.
